status:

Parthenium weed (Parthenium hysterophorus) is listed as noxious in class 1 (infestations must be reported to the Local Control Authority and the plants must be eradicated and the land kept free of the weed) throughout NSW. It is a native of subtropical America which is most troublesome in Queensland but is well established in western NSW.  Photos of this weed have been provided by Sheldon Navie of the University of Queensland.
