Subfamily Mimosoidae in Fabaceae (peas)

status

Prickly acacia (Acacia nilotica)
is listed as noxious in class 1 throughout NSW. It is a notifiable weed
and cannot be propagated or sold.  It is a small tree from African and Asia which has bipinnate (feathery) foliage and long spines, similar to some native wattles.  See the entries for mesquite and parkinsonia for some look-alikes for this weed.
